Bike Cross - Biking to Inspire Knowledge and Education in Nature

The BIKE CROSS project is implemented within the framework of the Interreg VI-A Hungary-Croatia Cross-Border Programme 2021-2027.

About project

The overall objective of the project is to encourage students and teachers to adopt an active and healthy lifestyle, to develop awareness of sustainable transport, and to connect natural sciences, social subjects, and physical activity through interdisciplinary learning in a real-world environment.

Project activities

Education of teachers

Education of teachers and students on the natural, geographical, and historical features of the Drava River area

Creation of multimedia content

Creation of multimedia content, including marking cycling routes and developing a mobile application with an interactive map

Education of students

Education of students on traffic culture and safe cycling, and organization of a cross-border competition on traffic rules knowledge

Field classes

Field classes for students along cycling routes, aimed at exploring the natural, geographical, and historical features of the Drava River area

Cross-border exchange

Cross-border exchange of good practices among teachers through joint field activities

Development of a handbook

Development of a handbook for interdisciplinary teaching

Cross-border student camp

Cross-border student camp where participants learn about the shared history and culture of the region through workshops, lectures, and sports activities

Procurement of equipment

Procurement of cycling, IT, and educational equipment (bicycles, helmets, signage, GPS watches, photographic equipment, interactive 3D tools) to support high-quality project implementation
